Economics of Happiness International Forum@ Totsuka, Yokohama / JAPAN November 8-10, 2019

Economics of Happiness
This year is the third consecutive one of the International Conference “Economics of Happiness” in Japan, that Global Ecovillage Network JAPAN and As One Network collaborated with Ms.Helena Noberg-Hodge and Mr. Keibo Oiwa (Shinichi Tsuji). The aim is creating a strong local-community-led economy in each region. We have intended to establish strong bonds between groups and individuals for the base. This year, Kai Sawyer joined the caller group. More than 30 organizations joined together. The guest speakers have come from all over the world and 1600 participants were recorded.
GEN-Japan was in charge of the activities of the Executive Committee for more than half a year, as well as the subcommittees, the pre-forums and the after-forums, to interact with many overseas guests and visitors.

 Ecovillage is the key for human to survive
Sub Conference C-3 
Prof. Wen talked about the reason why China needs to build a sustainable environmentally sound community. China has experienced three starvations since the end of World War II and has begun to move nationally to build an environment-friendly civilization around vast rural areas in China.

Wen Tiejin presented "Why China has selected the direction" with his story in Chinese; C-3 Ecovillage is the key for human to survive.

Saad Dagher :Palestine is under Israeli occupation and in a decertified harsh environment, making the best use of local resources and ensuring abundant food security through agricultural methods based on the concept of Masanobu Fukuoka. 

From Japan, Masashi Ono introduced the AsOne Network’s philosophy and activities in urban area, in which much population is concentrated worldwide. Suzuka Community shows a possibility of social change for human to survive. They have been conducting twenty years eco-sound community building as well as establishing and stabilizing the economy together with the region in Suzuka city.

In addition, two graduates of GEN-Japan’s EDE introduced the activities of NEXTGEN Japan and Health Office, based on the creation of a sustainable human relationship where they can discuss anything.
