Link between Farming Park and Satoyama Woodland

Farming Park is still small and immature but many younger city parents with their children come to attend and enjoy monthly farming events. The park is in 5 minutes walk distance from SCS. And Satoyama woodland is in 10 minutes distance by car.
Those places can make their lives well, and the circulation of natural materials and resources are occurring on their foot.

Community Farming park

Some members asked to make better use an abundant field for public, and named the Community's Farming Park.
This is a base of Suzuka Farm cooperation. At the same time here is the field for city people to get to know and enjoy the living with agriculture.
Farming Events named " Going to Farm and Eating at Farm" is held through a whole year. From children to senior people, peple plant seeds of vegetable, take care of them, harvest and eat them. They can meet various people and exchange their feeling and information there.
There are a playing space for children, outside oven, outside boiler, well, eco-toilet. They can use fire wood from Satoyama woodland for cooking. In the emergent time the park will be able to be used as a shelter.

Suzuka Satoyama Wood Land

In the west side of city, the Satoyama woodland has been maintained to harmonize well people's living with nature.
Some volunteers who loves Satoyama woodlands has maintained for city families with children to enjoy and learning a lot, stepping on falls.
Mash rooms farming are developing and professional charcoal kiln was built up.
City government helps to inform this activities. As the result, the satoyama group can take care of woodland in larger areas in the city, and lots of local wood were gathered to make charcoal. This activities make local people attracted to sustainable culture using local resources.

Linkage between Farming Park and Satoyama Woodland

There is a firm relationship between Farming Park and Satoyama Woodland. Fallen leaves, wood chips, small branches and charcoals are going to be used for fuel of oven at the Farming Park. On the other hand, agricultural products from Farming Park is going to be cooked in the events at Satoyama Woodland.
